If you follow me on Facebook you would know that a few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing the launch event for Aprons4Action at Bundaleer Rainforest Gardens. A slideshow of some of my images can be found below.
BUT first ... Let me tell you a little about Aprons4Action. Aprons4Action is the initiative of a group of friends who wanted to help raise funds to support projects helping women and children living in extreme poverty in Southern India. It's a fantastic fundraising concept of traveling aprons. The idea is to raise funds for community health programs, education, farming activities and income generating projects in India. To find out how you can take action against poverty and help empower one small community in southern India, visit www.aprons4action.org.au.
The idea is simple, yet effective. Wear the apron ... take a photo ... give a little ... the pass the apron along. All during the event I wasn't just wearing my usual work attire & my cameras - I was proudly wearing an apron named 'Miffy' as well. I can't wait to send Miffy on her way.
It was such a treat to be involved and to use my skills for such a worthy cause.
